2009 OCDA All-Collegiate Chorus

General Information
The Oklahoma All-Collegiate Choir is set for March 27-28, 2009.  The location is Trinity Episcopal Church, 501 S. Cincinnati Avenue, Tulsa, OK  74103 (downtown).  The cost is $125.00 for each quartet that is sent from participating schools.  Schools may register to send up to two balanced quartets, with an option for a third if space allows.  Students are selected on the sole discretion of each director, with the understanding that students must have music “performance ready” upon arrival.  Each school is responsible for purchasing/furnishing music for their singers.  The registration deadline is Friday, February 6, 2009.  Click here for a registration form.

Students will wear what they normally wear at their respective university performances.  There will be no admission charge for the concert.

Conducting Masterclass
Dr. Scheibe has also agreed to lead a conducting masterclass for our college students.  Three students will be chosen to conduct the All-Collegiate Choir for this masterclass, with music conducted coming from the pieces being performed by the collegiate choir.  Students must audition to be selected to conduct for this event.  Click here for an audition form.

The masterclass audition process includes the following:  Each student auditioning must submit a digital video recording of his/her conducting two pieces with their college choir.  This may come in the form of DVD or videotape, but must be digital.  The audition repertoire may include any two pieces they wish to use.  The audition tape must be limited to ten minutes, with only conducting, no rehearsing.  The deadline for submission is November 15th, 2008.  All audition materials must be sent to David DeSeguirant, Director of Choral Activities at OBU by this date.   David has graciously agreed to serve as chair of the selection committee, with input from Dr. Scheibe.  Students will be informed of selection before the end of the first semester.  It is important that we encourage our young conductors and I am glad that we are offering them this opportunity for growth in their conducting.
